SheOne

Born 1969 in London, James Choules began spray-painting under the nickname 'SheOne' and was part of the first wave of street artists in the UK in the early 1980s. Using spray cans as his main tool, he began to explore themes of 'alphabet' and 'alter ego' through his wild style of street painting and public art. His impeccable work is rendered in lines, shapes, colours, forms and gestural marks. His unique technique and expressive approach to image-making has led to a wide range of projects for galleries, fashion houses, international brands and collaborative product design. Currently working from his studio in Barcelona, he continues to push the limits of materials and explore new and dynamic modes of output.

Message From The Artist

I'm just concerned about making a painting to express something personal and for the audience, for the viewer in the Gallery, It is up to them to make their own story. I would not tell people what to think, what they see. It's completely open. I don't have a message or a story, it's just I have an aesthetic and I want to make something that's never been seen before and something very pure.
